SERVICE AVAILABILITY
We always strive to ensure everything works seamlessly so you can play HITSTER whenever it suits you. We’ve designed the technology behind HITSTER to be as reliable as possible. However, certain situations, such as extreme volumes caused by many players using the app simultaneously, can impact its availability.
If you encounter issues where the app is unresponsive or not functioning as expected, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. In such cases, our app team will immediately work to resolve the issue and restore functionality as quickly as possible so you can continue playing. Please feel free to test the app periodically.
THE WRONG SONG STARTS PLAYING WHEN SCANNING A QR CODE
WHAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE?
Some users may occasionally experience a bug in Spotify that causes the wrong song to play when a QR code is scanned. This bug originates from Spotify and is not specific to HITSTER but affects all Spotify users who open songs via a link. The issue seems to come and go and tends to affect Android users more often than iPhone users.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Start by downloading the app to another phone in your group, preferably an iPhone if someone has one, and test if that resolves the issue. If it doesn’t help, you can always use a dedicated DJ to manually search for and play the songs in Spotify. We understand this isn’t the ideal solution, but it’s a possible workaround for now.
WILL YOU FIX THIS?
The plan is to release a new app in the near future that uses entirely different technology. This new app is expected to permanently resolve this issue and provide an even better user experience than the current one. While we don’t have a specific release date, the app is tentatively scheduled for launch in January 2025.
We deeply apologize for this issue and are doing everything we can to provide you and all other players with the best possible game experience given the current technical limitations.
