Did you know that...
The song’s second verse originally had the lyrics “Her boyfriend’s a dick, he brings a gun to school”. But this was censured on the radio, so that “dick” sounded more like “prick”. The lyrics “gun to school” are also often censured. The word “gun” might not sound particularly offensive, but the day that Brown presented the song to his record company was the first anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting.
